Livingston could be set for brand new Lidl store

Discount giant Lidl could soon be opening a new store in Livingston.

The company has informed people living in Craigshill that a new branch is being proposed for Almond Road on the site of the former Evans Halshaw car showroom.

It will soon apply for planning permission from West Lothian Council has sent information leaflets to locals asking for their views.

The 86-space parking area at the store will also comprise of two spots to charge electric vehicles.

This forms part of the discounter’s ambitious plans to have 1000 stores throughout Great Britain by the end of 2023.

The leaflets sent by Lidl to people living gin Craigshill and East Calder have a QR code that can be scanned to access the online consultation.
