Singer Sam Smith has been spotted living it up in Sydney’s Redfern in a fun turn of events, and they are looking like a local.
Australia has been crawling in celebrities lately.
We’ve had Jude Law cutting loose in Brisbane,we’ve seen singer Charlie Puth looking slightly awkward in Bondi and now we’ve been blessed with Smith turning up in Redfern thanks to the fact they are on tour down under.
Smith, 31, posted on their Instagram story that they were getting a tattoo at Markd the tattoo shop in Redfern.
The tattoo shop is a pretty recent addition to the area and only opened in 2019 but has become one of those cool joints that people come to get inked.
Smith’s Australia adventures don’t end there either, they’ve also been spotted cutting a low-key figure all over Sydney.
They’ve been rocking casual looks like shorts and oversized T-shirts and very much blending in.
People online have been remarking that without the glitz and glam of show business they look just like a local.
“I don’t recognise them without red leather chaps,” one joked.
“So normal,” another remarked.
“No one recognises him,” another noted.
Smith is known for singing beautiful love songs and also being very open about their journey as a queer artist.
The star came out as non-binary in 2019 and they have since explained that their journey to that decision wasn’t based on suddenly feeling different but finally being able to live their truth.

Smith added that it has actually been a “lovely” process and they are in a fabulous place.
“It’s been a process of feeling heard and seen — that there is a space that I can live in and enjoy my life in and feel completely like myself, and be treated as such. I think that’s the difference with the pronouns.”
